Story Time at the Ryce Community Center

Story Time in the Park resumes on Wednesday, March 23 with Curious Moon Puppets ?Tessa?s Tree.? There will be two sessions. Story Time will be at the Main Street Park, 1220 S. Main St. at 11:00am. The group will be at the Ryce Community Center, 305 7th St., NW at 4:00pm. Tessa?s Tree is the story of a little tree who learns to appreciate the best within himself thanks to the help of the little girl who loves him. This tale of discovering one?s own, unique gifts is highlighted by comic forest characters and catchy music, making it perfect for the holiday season or any time of year! This is a traditional hand puppet and rod puppet show, performed inside a professional, velvet-curtained puppet booth. All puppets are handmade by the puppeteer. The show is followed by a demonstration speech about the puppets and puppeteering. All questions will be answered, and children will have a chance to take a closer look at the puppets that interest them. Parents are welcome to attend with their children. They?ll love it too! Storytime in the Park is presented through a Strategic Community Impact Initiative of the United Way in which the Moultrie-Colquitt County Library System and the City of Moultrie Parks and Recreation Department partner to develop a community hub to promote literacy and school readiness.
