One of Colquitt County Schools' athletes has been selected to compete at the 2013 World Winter Games in South Korea! These games will take place in PyeongChang, South Korea, January 29-February 5, 2013. That athlete is Sissy C., a student at C. A. Gray Jr. High School.
This is quite an honor for both Sissy and the Special Olympics Colquitt County program. Sissy is only one of 3 from the state of Georgia selected. She will be competing in the 111M, 222M, and 333M Speed Skating events.
The cost of sending each athlete to the Games is around $10,000. The state Special Olympics Office in Atlanta will be picking up the majority of the expense, but we need to raise $2,000 locally towards the cost of the trip.
