Fall Classes at the Arts Center will be starting up on Monday, September 8, 2014. The Arts Center offers dance,piano,voice,drums,strings,painting,drawing and theatre. "Southern Gentlemen Create Quality Art"
Dr. D.W. Adcock of Moultrie will show his art of woodturning. He creates beautiful bowls of different types of wood from all over the world. Steve Hinton of Albany is a multi-medium artist who creates whimsical art of local culture. Both will be on display in the Vereen Gallery.

Arts Center Gallery Opening
This opening will feature Dr. D.W. Adcock, wood turned bowls, and Steve Hinton, paintings and drawings. The reception is on September 11 at 7:00pm and will be hosted by the Moultrie Service League.

Coats for Courage
Northside Fire Department 2nd Annual Coat and Food Drive
We are asking for new or slightly used coats and food for less fortunate kids in our community. We will be collecting coats and nonperishable food items on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights from 6:00 pm until 10:00 pm starting on September 15, 2014 at Northside Fire Dept. at 647 Woodman Rd. Also Farm Bureau Insureance on Sylvester Highway, and Oxley's Fine Foods, at all three locations, 17 8th Ave N.E and at 501 Veteran's Park Way South and at 800 W.Central Ave in Moultrie, GA. We would like to encourage all who can, to please donate to this worthy cause. Thanks from the members of the Northside Vol. Fire Department and from the members of The Coats for Courage firefighting team.

Event at Colquitt County High School
The Colquitt County High School FFA/Horticulture Classes will be selling Fall Annuals Wednesday-Friday October 1-3 as well as Wednesday-Friday October 8-10. Please call Adrienne Smith at 890-6140 or email asmith@colquitt.k12.ga.us. These are being sold by the flat (36 plants) for $15/flat. We can mix flats. Pansies (Yellow, Purple, White, Mixed Colors) Violas (Black, Mixed Colors), Snapdragons (Mixed Colors), and Dianthus(Mixed colors of reds, whites, pinks).

"Leaves of Love" Grief Camp by Colquitt Regional Hospice
Leaves of Love is a Grief Camp for children from 10-18 years of age. Leaves of Love is intended to help children who are dealing with the process of grief and it offers a supportive environment to relate to others and complete activities that are fun and educational. This one day camp is designed to help strengthen and develop their coping skills in dealing with grief that death and loss brings.

2nd Saturday "CookieRista"
Sign your child up for this fun creative cookie making and decorating class with Katie Garafolo Jenkins. Children will get an apron to decorate, make cookie dough from scratch, and decorate with royal icing. Theme is based on month. October of course is Halloween!

Murder of the Mystery Detective by Penny Warner
Sir Arthur Conan Hoyle has purchased the Moultrie-Colquitt County Library and has plans to turn it into a state-of-the-art facility with a snack bar, health spa, video game room, nail salon and petting zoo. He also owns one of the largest game companies in the world. His latest game, Murder of the Mystery Detective is scheduled for release, but must first be tested by six of the world's best mystery detectives: Sam Slayed, Hemlock Bones, Hercules Perot, Agatha Mystry, Nancy Prude, and Kutesy Millstone. Sir Arthur is murdered and Inspector Adam Dogleash must fine the murderer.

Sunbelt Ag Expo
The Sunbelt Ag Expo is an agricultural-based tradeshow held at Spence Field in Moultrie, Ga. Known as “North America’s Premier Farm Show”™ the annual event has more than 1200 exhibitors showcasing the latest in farming technology. Whether you are large acreage production farmer or a weekend lifestyle farmer the Expo is an event you don’t want to miss.
The Expo’s unique site has a100-acre exhibit area adjoining a 600-acre working research farm. In the exhibit area, which includes both outdoor and indoor exhibits visitors will find every imaginable product or service a farm could ever need. In addition to the static exhibits visitors can attend educational, entertaining seminars and demonstrations offered in a variety of specialized areas. Visitors can ride take a tram from the exhibit area to the fields where cotton, peanuts, corn, soybeans, turf grass and hay are being harvested. These harvesting demos as well as tillage demonstrations, equipment driving ranges, irrigation technology, precision ag demos and the Toyota Behind The Wheel Adventure all provide opportunities to see and compare a wide range of equipment in an actual working setting. Company representatives and specialists are in the fields to answer visitor questions.
