Name: Cindy Agan Watercolor Workshop
Date: April 7, 2016 - April 10, 2016
Event Description:
Portraits of Children & Pets My art career began with a box of crayons and a coloring book at the age of three and I have honed my skills ever since!"   With the exception of a beginner course, Cindy Agan is a self-taught, internationally published artist and author. Being detail-oriented, she prefers a realistic approach to her subjects in mediums that include watercolor, pastel, fluid acrylics, gouache and most recently oil. Her paintings of children have been best described as ?in a spirit evocative of Norman Rockwell" and she has completed over 300 portrait commissions. She favors a predominately warm palette, applying numerous glazes of highly concentrated paint to achieve the intense and vibrant color characteristic of her work. Cindy is the author of the art instruction book titled 'Painting Watercolors that Sparkle with Life' and a companion DVD, an excerpt of which is included in '10 Top Painting Tips', a DVD featuring artists from around the world. Her work has appeared in the following books: 'Splash: The Best of Watercolor books: 6, 7, 9, 10, 12', 'Splash Retrospective: 20 Years of Contemporary Watercolor Excellence', 'Strokes of Genius 3: The Best of Drawing', 'Eyes On: Landscapes', 'A Celebration of Light: Painting the Textures of Light in Watercolor', 'Drawing and Painting People: The Essential Guide', 101 Art Techniques for Artists and in two books in the 'Painters Quick Reference Series: Birds & Butterflies' and 'Cats & Dogs'.    Cindy teaches portrait workshops throughout the United States and Canada and offers two workshop formats: Painting Children's Portraits and Pet Portraits. Her works hang in many private and corporate collections in the U.S. and U.K. and she is a signature member of the Louisiana Watercolor Society. In addition, her paintings have juried into national and international shows and have received over 80 awards. "Undoubtedly, there are more paintings that I want to create than I have time, but there is nothing I would rather do than work towards that impossible goal."
