SUMMARY:CHANGING TIMES IN AGRICULTURE – DON’T GET LEFT BEHIND LUNCH
DESCRIPTION:SCORE Moultrie and USDA are teaming up to host this lunch for people interested in starting a farm or agribusiness. Jack Spruill and Andy Harrison from the Georgia Department of Agriculture will discuss new and emerging specialty crops\, opportunities for raising goats and sheep and the Georgia Grown program. Ameris Bank is sponsoring the lunch to be catered by Gay's Seafood. Those interested in attending should RSVP\, by September 16th\, at scoremoultrie@gmail.com or calling the Moultrie-Colquitt County Chamber of Commerce at 229-985-2131 and asking for SCORE. A four-member team of experienced ag professionals is trained and eager to mentor people thinking about starting a farm or agribusiness. Thomas Coleman\, P.L. Jowers\, Stan Savage\, and Harry Thompson answered the call when SCORE Moultrie and the USDA kicked off an effort last fall to establish a team of ag professionals to advise would-be-farmers and agribusiness owners the way SCORE volunteers have helped small business owners since 1964. For more information reach out to SCORE Moultrie at the contact info listed above.
